A.I. or Shaq?
Everyone wants to talk about who is the best player in basketball, I don’t wanna talk about that, I wanna know who you’d rather have out of the two aging Hall of Famers; Allen Iverson or Shaquille O’neal?
Both are on the down slide of their careers and injuries have slowed down both athletes. My question for you is who has more left in the tank? Which one would you like to see your team make a move for? The 36 year old Shaq has had a resurgence this year, but could you see him keeping it up for another two season? Like he said at the all star break, he at least wants 2 more years. Allen Iverson is 33 years old and has been one of the most prolific scorers of the generation. However, an ailing back has made Iverson miss plenty of time this season, also are all those minutes he played each season with the 76ers hurting the aging scorer?
In my opinion I’m going with A.I. I know Shaq is dominate this year but I think once A.I.’s contract runs up and he can sign with a new team we will all see him go back to the dominate scorer he once was. Could you Imagine if you put A.I on the Thunder, moved Westbrook to the 2, Durant to 3, and Green to 4 all that team would be missing is a center IE. Hasheem Thabeet in the draft with the first pick to be a contender.

good post. great question. I think it probably depends on the system, in a half court slow it down and pound it low I want Shaq obviously, but in a run and gun offense I would take Iverson hands down. I guess thats the obvious answer, but let’s say that Iverson was healthy right now I think it would be interesting to see Shaq on the Pistons and A.I on the Suns.

i’d take shaq in a heart beat, he is in old shaq form and crushing opponents, ive always loved to watch iverson play but the guy shoots to much, plain and simple, hes not a guy thats gonna lead u through a playoff stretch

Shaq can be effective for much longer due to sheer size
Not exactly the best timing to come up with a fair response. Shaq is coming off two monster games, while AI just got bumped to the bench thanks to a second year overrated “pg”.
Anyway, definitely AI. He just needs to right situation, which Detroit is not.
That is the reason why i posted this question. Think about last season no one would have taken Shaq over A.I. Right now I am the only person so far taking A.I. and I would stand by A.I. to Shaq anyday of the week I know A.I. will bounce back and Shaq will go back to be unmotivated again and just be another big guy in the league
well heres a good point Iverson and the pistons sucks and so do shaq and the suns, so Ill take any other superstar in the league with a winning record.. oh did anyone mention that the pistons have won two in a row with Iverson out?? Another good point if Shaq and the Suns were in the east they would be in the playoffs… no doubt I’ll take the big cactus!!

The Masked Man is legit, he is the new Ray Allen (if he was acutally new and Allen was actually old, I mean he is old, but still playing, so..) So lets not knock his game simply cause Iverson doesn’t succeed there. Was that the problem then in Denver, and you mos def can’t say that was the problem in the last years in Philly… IMO Iverson is a glorified ballhog, but don’ take that in the wrong way cause I’ve been an AI fan for a minute…
