Bengals Replace Houshmandzadeh With Coles

coles

Days after letting Houshmandzadeh leave to go to Seattle, The Bengals have made their move to fill the gap, and that gap filler is Laveranues Coles.

“The Bengals were very aggressive right from the start in talking to us,” Coles said, in a statement released by the team. “And when a team makes you feel really wanted, that’s a factor you’re not going to ignore. They said, ‘Let’s get this worked out,’ and we did.”

ESPN reported that the deal with Cincinnati was worth $28 million, another indication of how badly the Bengals wanted him. Coles also visited Buffalo last week.

“Clearly, Laveranues gives our passing game another proven weapon,” coach Marvin Lewis said. “He’s been durable and reliable, with high production in catches, yards, yards-per-catch and touchdowns. He’s also a passionate player, a guy who will bring a very positive chemistry to our locker room.

I think that after all the shit I talked, the Bengals have finally made a move to improve their team. I think Coles is a nice fit here and can really help out their offense by providing a nice trio of WR’s with Coles, Johnson and Henry. I am sure Ocho Cinco is happier then ever that he now has someone to take some of the attention off his aging self.

So I leave you with this. Who would you rather have, Whosyourmomma or Coles?

What I’m sure Ocho has never been more pissed . The Begles didn’t get their top wise out who has average 90+ catches a season who a guy in Coles, who was awful last year with the Jets. SI obviosuly Housh is ten times better than Coles

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check the stats before we say things….

      Coles had 70 receptions, 850 yards and 7 TD’s
      T.J has 90 receptions, 900 yard, 4 TD’s

So to say T.J had an amazing year and Coles had a awful year is just stupid.

The word amazing never came out of my mouth, but good try. I’m say saying Housch is a top 15 wide outs and I don’t see Coles near that.

Also keep in mind Ryan Fitzpatrick was the QB all season in Cincy so there is another reason for a down hear by T.J. You put Carson in his numbers sky rocket

You said Coles had an awful season, and with those stats I would says Coles had a better year then Housh did…

Also Fitz being the QB only helped T.J’s stats, If Palmer is the QB look for Ocho Cinco to benefit.

Thats a total lie kid, Carson the last season they all played together had 15 more targets to TJ or Ocho. I know you want to believe your right but your wrong. Housch way better than Coles

Its so stupid because you can make the same argument with Coles, Put Coles with Carson Palmer and his stats will go up too…

      LAST SEASON: Coles > T.J

Heres a point on Kittels side, 3 of his TD’s and 185 of his yards came in that one monster game where Favre threw 6 TDs so if you take that one huge game out Coles’ stats do dip a bit… There is no doubt TJ is a better receiver he has been for the past three years atleast… I think its hilarious that Marvin Lewis thinks that Coles has such a good attitude and is a team player, Coles held out of training camp four years ago when he was in the last year of his contract with NYJ, and then last year he publicly fueded with both the organization and his new QB (Favre) after they traded Pennington (his butt buddy) away to clear room for #4… Its funny how coaches will say the stupidest most generic things about a player in a press conference and half the time the labels they pick don’t fit at all…

I didn’t know that now we are faulting players for big games

I’m not, It’s just one reason his stats are even comparable to TJ’s

    12. Papa Bear
      3/5/09

So? he did it in an NFL game against a NFL defense, TJ had the same opportunity to have a big game….

Yeah but clearly that defense was not viable in the game as they were getting torched on all fronts… but your point is duelly noted… did anyone see J.T. O’Sullivan signed with the Bengals today so maybe it will be him throwing the ball, and perhaps Carson “tommy-john” Palmer won’t be ready again next season… or perhaps its just insurance that they dont want an Ivy leaguer running the offense for a whole season again..

and I dont know about opportunity cause Favre even at age 65 was better by a million then Fitz

Nice double post. Trying to boost your top dog numbers? haha j/k And just because Favre had 1500 more yards and 10+ more TD’s DOES NOT mean he is better… haha ok ya it does..

can you imagine if these guys combined names…..Laveraneus Houshmandzadeh that could be the longest name in NFL history…..

Most people are going to say TJ all the way…. People will argue stats, but if you look at the stats they are pretty similar. Let alone they are the same age, Coles has actually been playing longer. Which makes his career stats better, and TJ was a bench warmer his first two seasons and injured his third. With all that said over the last 5 years TJ has proven himself as an elite receiver averaging over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns. I am going to have to agree with everyone and say I would easily choose TJ over Coles.
