Battle of the Back Ups: Young or Leinart?
So today Kurt Warner signed a two year deal with the Cardinals and with Matt Leinart still under contract for 2 more years and Kerry Collins signed a 2 years deal with the Titans last week, with Vince Young under contract for 2 more years that mean both Leinart and Young are both back ups for the next two seasons unless someone trades for them.
My thing is lets say your a team that needs a new quarterback and you don’t have the first overall pick and can’t draft Stafford and with the rest of the quarterbacks in the draft not being that great, who would you make the move for Matt Leinart or the 2006 rookie of the Year Vince Young?
I’m going with Matt Leinart, I know he hasn’t had very much experience and when he has gotten a chance to play it hasn’t been too impressive but lets be honest Vince Young doesn’t have the smarts to ever be a good quarterback in the NFL, all he can do is run. Yes he does have a better arm than Leinart but lets be honest, I’m probably a more accurate quarterback than Vince Young. If I was the GM of the Tampa Bay Bucs, I’m making a move Matt Leinart tomorrow. He is an intelligent quarterback and has great skill sets, there is a reason he won a Heisman. Matt Leinart is still a quarterback that you can build a team around, someone please save him from the bench in Arizona and let him show what he can do.

Leinart easy….but I dont think I would want either one of these cats running my ship……
I like Leinart because he knows how to party. At the same time, if this was a head to head competition, VY would take it like he did in the Rose Bowl…presented by Citi

Your an idiot. Leinart had an awesome game it just came down to who had the ball at the end and it was texas. Also vince young did it to USC’s Defense not Leinart

you say there is a reason Leinart won the heisman, yeah its the fact that he played for SC and that team was awesome and he tore up pac-10 defenses, sounds hard right??? NOT ask joey harrington, david dixon, and the rest of the bums who looked great in college playing against the high school defenses of the Pac-10
oh i would most definitely party with leinart, just imagine the chicks that guy pulls, and as for VY well he parties at church or with a psychologist or with his mom
Texas would not have even won that game if big Lendale didnt cough the ball up with 2 mins to go in the 4th quarter. I still say there is better chance of Young killing himself than becoming a successful NFL quarterback

Thigpen in KC is a good backup, Seneca Wallace and Charlie Frye in Sea, Grossman in CHI (LOL), David Carr in NYG theres a ton of “good” back up QB’s
