Eagles Lose Dawkins, Broncos Ink Superstar!
The Broncos continue with their free agent assualt and ink Eagles 13 year safety Brain Dawkins! Apparently the Broncos are trying to form an amazing defense to go with that potent offense of 2008.
The seven time probowler will be a huge loss for the Eagles defense, I have no idea how they let someone of his calliber and leadership just slip away. I guess they couldn’t afford him with all those other big name players on their roster (sarcasm)…
The team has also acquired defensive studs Browns linebacker Andra Davis and a three-year, $6.8 million deal for Colts defensive tackle Darrell Reid, according to sources.

Wow Broncos D is starting to look gooooooooood
He is 35 years old and for the past 7 years had one of the best surrounding cast in football, love the guy but he is going to miss Philadelphia just as much as they are going to miss him.
No way I would ever give a 35 year old a 5 year contract.

What the new Broncos regime is trying to do is nearly identical to what Scott Pioli and Bill Belichick did when they took over control of the New England Patriots in 2000. They signed twenty-someodd free agents to see who would stick on the team and could act as a stopgap until they were able to replace them with younger, more talented draft prospects.
