Will Winslow Finally Live Up To Expectations With Bucs?

After 5 grueling years with the Browns (for both parties), Winslow has finally been traded. Cleveland traded the former pro-bowler to Tampa Bay for a number of undisclosed draft pics.
“Cleveland was great to me,” he said in Tampa. “I had a great time playing with Braylon Edwards, Brady Quinn. I’m going to miss those guys. But it’s also a new opportunity. I’ve played with some of the guys on this team — Jeff Faine, Antonio Bryant, Luke McCown. I’m as happy as can be. I’m healthy.”
Winslow’s acquisition continues a busy week for the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay cut linebacker Derrick Brooks, an 11-time Pro Bowler and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year; wide receivers Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard; running back Warrick Dunn; and linebacker Cato June in moves to save more than $10 million in salary cap space.
Winslow gives Tampa Bay a versatile offensive weapon. His size and speed make him difficult to defend, but it’s unclear who will throw him the ball. Jeff Garcia is not expected to be re-signed, which currently leaves only Brian Griese and McCown — drafted by the Browns the same year as Winslow — to battle it out for the starting job.
This is an amazing trade for the Bucs who needed a premium TE. Although the exact draft picks are undisclosed, I think the Bucs got a deal of a life time. YES, I know that he has been dragged through injury and controversy in his 5 year stint with the Browns, but we all know what new teams can do for a career, maybe he can finally get back on his hall of fame pedigree.

Seems like a good trade for the Bucs even though i think Stevens is an OK TE. I guess we will have to see is Winslow can actually keep his butt on the field!!
he will be hurt before the season starts
Can anyone say Charles Rogers? Haha i am j/k, I think he will have a great year.
Winslow was supposed to be better than his father, and rememberr in college when he did the Hesiman pose, what a joke of a career this guy has had so far… I guess thats why potential can only get you so far in professional sports…
he’s probably counting his blessings to get out of Cleveland the only thing a Reciever/Tight End can catch there is a Staff infection

From what I understand the Browns received a second round and a fifth round pick this year for Kellen Winslow II, though I cannot confirm this. I believe they received adequate value for him, since he has failed to remain healthy on a consistent basis since getting drafted.
Still, he’s twenty-five years old and could be a cornerstone for the massive rebuilding phase of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since the departures of John Gruden, Monte Kiffin, Derrick Brooks, Joey Galloway, and other former franchise cornerstones.
